Many residents of Maury County are smiling a little wider lately, thanks to the staff at Beck Dental Care.
The practice run by Dr. Victor C. Beck Jr. Beck has been named the Best Dentist in the county as part of the annual Best of Maury County readers’ poll.
“It’s my office, not me, that really deserves the praise,” Beck said. “I can’t tell you how often I hear that we have the greatest staff.”
Beck has been in business for 37 years, with a number of his employees working with him for at least 15 of those years. The dentist said 60 percent of the people who come to his office — his No. 1 source of new patients — are word-of-mouth referrals from current patients.
“We want people to have a good enough experience that they can’t think of anything else to do but tell someone about it,” Beck said. “With that said, we’re really fortunate to have many great dentists in the community. People have a lot of quality choices out there.”

The run continues for the Kroger grocery stores as voters in the Best of Maury County have chosen them for the eighth time as best grocery store.
“Obviously it’s an honor,” said Shantavia Legette, manager of the Nashville Highway store. “This is my first year at this store. I’m excited to be here… It means a lot to be here, stay in business and have the support of the people of Columbia. I think our pharmacy manger, Sammy Naddy, has been a large part of this. All of my department managers have built a lot of relationships with customers.
The pharmacy lets customers fill their prescriptions or just pick up some over the counter medications for those health issues.
