Outline your morning ritual for us….
I like to get up before my son so anywhere between 5-530am, I use this time to exercise, stretch and shower before everyone in the house wakes up.
Outline your night ritual for us…
We usually all eat dinner together reasonably early and then once my son is in bed I’ll catch up on work, or use the time to mood board new ideas and then it’s time to chill out and watch something on TV. Currently we have gone back to the beginning of The Sopranos.
First thing you do when you wake up?
Brush my teeth and exercise.
Last thing you do before you go to sleep?
Body brush, shower and apply my skincare routine. I’ll also apply oil over my body to sink in overnight, lately I have been using lavender oil as well in diffuser before I go to sleep.
Talk us through your supplement intake.
What is your weeknight dinner philosophy – what’s a normal meal look like?
We keep it pretty simple, very clean and healthy. Mushroom lettuce burgers, salmon and veggies, lentil pasta with veggies. My rule of thumb is always veggies and/or salad and protein. Bit of dark chocolate and Pana Organic ice cream here and there.
What health/body treatment is a regular for you and why?
I’m a huge fan of Chinese herbs, acupuncture and infrared saunas.
Do you practice mindfulness?
I know it’s early but getting up around 5am really allows me to have my own time before the day starts.
Do you practice meditation?
I don’t do it as often as I like, honestly I alternate between walking, stretching and a meditation app to practice mindfulness.
What’s your approach to more alternative forms of beauty and wellness practises?
I’m very open to trying new things and alternative forms of beauty and wellness I find it extremely interesting and something I definitely explore. Crystals, sage, reiki, facial acupuncture and physics are some that come to mind.
What do you do to help your body recover after a workout/hectic week?
In an ideal world I would love to do an infrared sauna 2-3 times a week but that doesn’t happen. I use stretching, foam roller, oceans swims and cold showers as a way to recover my body. I also eat extremely clean and to fuel my body so this definitely helps with recovery.
Talk us through your fitness approach.
I train at F45 so the music is always good! I also run long distance so when I am running I don’t listen to anything, I find the silence calming. But when walking I will listen to a long podcast.
Which podcasts do you listen to?
I alternate however, on high rotation is GOOP and Second life.
Do you use any wellness technology or Apps to monitor your health?
Headspace for meditation.
What’s your trick to making it through 3pm slump?
Honestly coffee, chai or a swim in the ocean.
An average Sunday night looks like…
Usually a long walk with my husband and son then pancakes or breakfast out. The rest is catching up with friends or just chilling at the beach or at home.
Who do you look up to in the wellness world and why?
So many. I really admire the way Miranda Kerr has grown her business and continued to be certified organic and have products that actually work. Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba and Taryn Toomey are also huge inspirations to me in the clean health and wellness business world.
